''bertrandf'' FF update to 13 and now you can't open? Sorry about that. Now I am on Safari since my favorite browser, Firefox, has committed suicide or rather replaced itself by a useless copy which refuses to run with this OS.Īre you geniuses to allow the thing to install where it is not welcome? Plus, if you try to submit a comment on the Firefox page, it says you have to do it FROM the firexox brower. Plus I have an old Macbook ppc which won't run the recent os's. I stayed with Tiger for multiple reasons, even tho this happens to be an intel machine, and that should be my choice whether to install Lion/Leopard or not. Firefox automatically 'upgraded' for me, without asking, and it doesn't run since I have macosX 10.4.11. Are you geniuses to allow the thing to install where it is not welcome? Could that possibly be more annoying considering the reason I'm trying to register in the first place? Anyways, do you have any recommendations or does Forefox just not concern themselves with the affairs of people who can't afford to buy new computers? I have the same complaint. Then when I try to register for the forums on this site to address these issue (which they recommend to do on here), I am told I can't sign up because I am running an old version of Firefox. 12.0 is most definitely not compatible with the version of OS X on my MacBook Pro.
#FIREFOX FOR MAC 10.4.11 POWERPC UPGRADE#
Whenever I load Firefox it tells me to upgrade to 12.0 for security reasons.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11 'Intel,' TenFourFox doesn't help with that.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.4.11 'Intel,' TenFourFox doesn't help with that. I also tried using the optimized version for iBook G4, but it said that it couldn't run on my the latest versions of the best Mac apps at safe and trusted MacUpdate. I think it's the quality of the video that is causing the lag, even though DVDs play at very good quality.

My internet isn't good enough to play anything about 360p, so I don't go above that, but I really would like to be able to use 360p instead of 240p, if possible. It had occasional lag, but generally it was good. Just a heads up, I was able to get 240p playing fine in OmniWeb. Strangely enough, my system can play DVDs at full-screen with no problem whatsoever.ĭoes anyone know of any good, lightweight, web browsers (or alternatively, a way that I can get Youtube working within TenFourFox 24?) I'm also downloading the iBook optimized Firefox 4.0 to try that out (though that seems a little outdated, seeing as the newest version is about 20 versions newer.) I've read over this thread: and it suggests changing the power to Best Performance, turning off hardware acceleration, and upping the Flash cache size to 10MB, all of which I have done. I have an iBook G4 running OS X 10.4.11 and I really would like to watch youtube videos, but it is very choppy and generally impossible to watch!
